Taking risks with and for Christ

Doylestown Mennonite Church

Employee Detail

“I feel called to help people pray.” In my job as prayer minister at DMC, that role takes on many forms. I help with leading worship, coordinating our prayer chain, both email and phone, oversee the prayer ministry during our worship service and provide various prayer opportunities for the congregation. Leading the prayer ministry has increased my faith as I have seen God work through the prayers of the people. I am blessed to be supported by a caring, praying congregation that desires to carry out the mission of sharing God’s love in our world today. I also serve the regional church through my work as Prayer Ministry Coordinator with Franconia Mennonite Conference, the body of churches to which DMC belongs.

I was born and raised in the Doylestown area and have attended DMC most of my adult life. I spent four years as an elementary school teacher and then was home with our four children in the ensuing years, homeschooling and learning right along with them. At the present time we have three adult children (one of them married) working and studying in other areas and one daughter, 10, still at home. In my free time I enjoy gardening, reading, connecting with our children and being involved in our local elementary school through a prayer group and volunteer work. I am married to Steve Landes, my husband of 28+ years and we are enjoying the way we see God working as we serve him together.
